In 2017 we were approached by Isle Of Wight Railway company, as part as a renovation project for one of the carridges. For a Channel 4 Programme, filmed our process of making the glass by Brown Bob Productions.
Our Process
Below you will see images depicting some of our artistic processes used in creating our glass. All of our products are carefully made in our factory based in Liverpool, UK.
Creating the design
With a lot of our bespoke jobs we are often given glass with intricate designs that has unfortunatley been smashed. Depending on how the orginal broken piece of glass has been made we start to copy the design by hand to create the authenticity of the orginal design, depending on the design this can be a leangthy process.
We then scan the hand drawn design into the computer, ready for rendering & being transfered to the glass.
The images displayed below are from a job we completed only last year, you can see the effort going into this intricate work done by our Art & Design Graduate.
Screen Printing onto Glass
After the design has been drawn & rendered on the computer then transfered to a silk screen, we proceed to print the design onto the glass, we do this with a lot of our products not only to create designs but also to add colour.
